Promotor Camp 2024: Online live training Resilience hits the nerve of the industry

The upheavals in the automotive industry in general, but especially the discussions about e-mobility, are causing uncertainty among customers and are causing problems for the automotive industry. Nevertheless, there are extensive opportunities, especially for those market participants who are prepared to face the challenges and invest in their further training. The great response to Promotor's free online live training courses in February once again underlined the fact that the automotive industry is facing future challenges and getting ready for the future.

The topics “Used car management: active marketing of BEVs” and “Resilience: strengthening physical resistance for everyday work” proved to be an absolute hit in the free Promotor online live training courses in February. Promoter has clearly hit the nerve of the industry. The participants - primarily dealers, experts, but also numerous workshops - were not only enthusiastic about the practical tips for professionally selling used electric vehicles. Rather, the participants' very high interest in the topic of resilience showed how important inner strength and calmness are for every individual, especially in today's challenging times. The other webinars on the training topics of ESG sustainability reporting and professional sales of vans also made clear the participants' great need for information and education regarding the key aspects of ESG or practical advice as well as explanations of legal aspects in the area of vans.

Physical resilience: Armed against crises with training

The resilience training demonstrated the great importance that the physical resistance of each individual has for the professional success of a company. The aim here was to identify strategies and methods in order to gain more strength and composure and thus more resilience in stressful situations in the future. Looking at the structure and response from the participants in the training, it became clear that this topic is extremely relevant for all professional groups in the automotive industry. The enthusiasm about the lecturer, the content, the preparation and presentation of the topic and its implementation was huge.

Almost all of the 135 participants surveyed were completely satisfied with the training. It was suggested, however, to present even more practical examples and to make the webinar even more interactive. Immediately after completing the free Promotor Resilience webinars, further training slots were requested. The focus was on related topics such as motivation, emotional intelligence, positive thinking, personnel development and time and change management in the car dealership.

Reduce the loss of residual value of used BEVs with multiple uses

The interest of the participants in the training “Used car management: active marketing of BEVs” was also outstanding in view of the decline in residual value of used electric cars. Accordingly, the promoter trainers' suggestions, such as the possibility of multiple use of used vehicles in the dealer ecosystem or the establishment of a mobility business area in the car dealership, were met with open ears. It was clear to the participants that this was the only way they could protect themselves from loss of value and customer frustration.

In general, the participants' interest in further training and knowledge transfer in this area by the training and consulting specialist Promotor was enormous.

ESG sustainability reporting

A broad need for information and education also emerged in the promoter webinars around ESG. The participants primarily wanted to learn about the details of national implementation as well as the opportunities and risks of this mandatory sustainability reporting for their companies. Since the draft law implementing Directive (EU) 2022/244 of the European Parliament and of the Council of December 14, 2022 amending Regulation (EU) No. 537/2024 and Directives 2004/109/EC, 2006/43 /EC and 2013/34/EU regarding the sustainability reporting of companies, i.e. the national implementation, are only now available, the new requirements for companies were initially discussed in principle.

In addition, it is not yet clear whether ESG will actually start next year. A lot still depends on the Federal Ministry of Justice. Nevertheless, the participants were grateful to have received their first important insights and guidelines from the Promoter ESG training.

Transporter business: numbers, data, facts in focus

In the webinars relating to the highly demanding van business with commercial customers, the focus was on legal regulations. Here, the participants were primarily looking for detailed information about taxes, types of registration, driving and rest times, hygiene regulations or even analogue tachographs versus digital tachographs.

The high demand for practical advice as part of the training once again underlined how important this business area is to the industry. After all, it's a lot of money and the seller's knowledge of the specific technical details in the consultation makes the difference.

New service offerings in training

Overall, the promoter training courses, which were in high demand, made it clear how much the industry relies on further training and is ultimately prepared to change its behavior in order to be more successful in everyday business. It also became clear: the industry is more courageously facing the challenges of transformation than ever before. In view of the great response to its training offerings, Promotor will expand the range of services surrounding its training offerings and in the future will also offer its webinars as on-demand courses and provide blog articles and white papers on the training content.
